El Rancho Antigua is built almost entirely of recycled materials by Roxy Montana and Joseph Zanger, Sr.
Located 1 mile west of Casa de Fruta, near the Pacheco Pass Highway - midway between Hwy. 101 - Gilroy and Hwy. 5 near Los Banos.
The training facility boasts an all-weather arena and peaceful trails. Mares and foals roam acres of hillsides overlooking vineyards and some of the most fertile agricultural areas in northern California.
Open-air stalls allow the stallions to observe the daily ranch operations and training sessions in the main arena.
Foals are imprinted at birth, turned out and educated with the herd at one week of age.
The "Horse*Girl*Ship" program pairs teenage girls and pre-weanlings: horse sense to halter, lead quietly, tie and stand for hoof care, grooming, bathing, and trailering. Colt training continues periodically and all horses are started with patience and consistency for a positive experience for all. Once under saddle, horses are ridden on a regular schedule.
Staff members include Roxy Montana- Owner/Trainer, Instructors - Heidi Wetzel and Jennifer Kan. Trainer - Susann Regalmutto,
